1.How do I book a tour with you? What are your payment terms ?
Upon receipt of your request, we will tailor make a proposal and draft an itinerary with costs for your perusal.

If you accept this proposal and wish to book a trip with us, we will reserve all services involved and send you a formal confirmation.

Upon receipt of your reservation form and deposit, we send you a complete confirmation package about your trip. This includes information on what to expect on your adventure, travelers health information from the Center for Disease Control, travel insurance options and visa applications. You also receive a suggested reading list and special reading material from our extensive library of articles and information on the specific area, people and cultures that you will visit on your tour. We want you to be well equipped and well informed!
When your trip is confirmed, your final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. Approximately 3 weeks before you leave, we send you your final documents including: a confirmed itinerary, a hotel & local contact list with all the necessary addresses and phone numbers and any air tickets and hotel vouchers that are needed for your trip.

You can pay us directly by bank transfer. We are sorry we are not able to take credit card payments at the moment and bank transfer is a very secure mode of payment.


2. How do I get a visa for my trip?
If you are based in Bangkok we can assist you apply for and get visa.

If you book from overseas, visas should be arranged from your side directly with the country’s consulate.

However, please note that many countries offer visa waiver or visa on arrival policies.

We will give all information concerned directly when working on your program.


3. Does Secrets of Asia sell travel insurance ?
We do not directly sell travel insurance and recommend you to consult your usual insurer or other partners (bank, credit card companies, etc).


4. What about the international air tickets?
Typically, our packages are priced as land-only and international airfare comes with an additional charge. If you are using frequent flyer miles, we highly recommend that you arrange your own air tickets.

For all flights out of your home country, international air tickets should be booked from your side.

For all international flights out of Bangkok or part of your itinerary (e.g. flight from Thailand to Laos and from Laos to Vietnam) we will be happy to arrange bookings and ticket delivery.


5. When is the best season to travel to Asia?
There is no straightforward answer since we propose a wide range of destinations, going all the way from Myanmar in the West to Bali and Indonesia in the East, from Tibet in the North to Australia in the South.

Here is a rough guideline:

- Thailand and Indochina, Philippines (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar): November to March and 
  July/August
- Malaysia and Indonesia (including Bali): March to October
- China: March to October
- India: October to April


6. What is Secrets of Asia’s cancellation policy ?
We do not charge you anything more than what our suppliers are charging to us (for example, if a hotel charges 1 night cancellation fee for late cancellation, we will have to charge you accordingly and refund the rest). However, this is explained in details when you wish to book services with us and we will do our best to negotiate the best conditions for you.


7. Why would we book with you? You are not a well known tour operator.
We understand your concern as there are many travel agencies available on the internet nowadays.
However, we have been in this business for 20 years, well before the internet was developed. We are a small company working closely with our clients and we are now using the web as a new media only.
However, we have many repeated clients who used our services to travel in several Asian countries and who recommend us through word of mouth which is our best marketing.
Therefore, it is in our very best interest to satisfy you to the best of our availabilities and you can be assured of our best intentions and care.

Last but not least: we are a small structure with reduced overhead costs. Therefore, we are able to offer you rates that are very competitive.
Dealing with us will allow you to save all the “middleman” fees that are incurred when dealing with a major tour operator.
